INCENTIVE/FIT:
Jim Gordon is on a one-man crusade to rout out corruption and crime in his city. He grew up with a pretty idealistic sense of what his home city was like; as an adult he learned the reality was far from it. But he still has hope that he can return the city he loves to that ideal picture, that he can make it into the place he believed it to be.

He's also a man made of justice and fair play; he considered asking outright that his incentive be the city cleaned up for him all in one go. But he wouldn't have felt that he'd earned it, or that anyone was better off for simply having a magic wand waved over them, so he decided against that.

What he has come to realize, though, is that no man is an island. Despite his determination to see this out alone, there are people who want to help and who have thrown in their lot with him: his partner, the idealistic young DA, other cops on the force, his girlfriend. He's also realized the danger this puts them in, so he has requested that his incentive be that the people closest to him do not suffer any harm as a result of his efforts. He wants them protected while he does what he has to do.

Jim is a pretty traditional, vanilla guy, and he's straight. He's not against brotherly hugs/backslaps/handshakes/horseplay with other men but there's no real sexual attraction there. He wouldn't be uncomfortable or offended if a man was attracted to him or made a pass at him, but he's not interested in anything sexual. He is, however, capable of deep friendships, brotherly bonds, emotional intimacy with other men, and he's not bothered by platonic physical affection with them.

He's all for the same kind of casual affection with ladies (hugging, handholding, and the like), but he is in a serious relationship back home, and so he may feel the occasional pang of guilt at times about doing anything more. It's not something that would stop him, but he'd be up front about it in the name of informed consent--he feels like that's something a lady ought to know before getting deeply involved with him. Getting to a sexual interaction with someone would take time and getting to know them; it's not something he could jump straight to on a first meeting but given the opportunity to court them a little bit and sort out his own feelings he would be able and willing to be sexually intimate.

Given his strong moral compass that tells him to be respectful of people at all times, he would also be super careful about consent with either men or women, making sure he's not touching someone who isn't comfortable being touched, or pushing for more than someone is willing to give.
